Green Option For Taxis (Complain)

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to you with reference to the report used by London Assembly member Mr Murad Qureshi to question the public’s usage of taxi-cabs and ask whether they are a green option. It appears Mr Qureshi used stats that were provided by yourselves at transport for London under a banner of TfL’s Environment Report Data Table December 2008.

Could you please provide me with the methodology used by the authors of the report and explain how they managed to predict what left the tail pipe of a taxi-cab without accurately knowing how much fuel was used by the whole fleet of London’s taxi-cabs.

I would also like to draw your attention that it states nowhere in the report that it is you the licensing authority that insists we drive these taxi-cabs.

I must say I find the report misleading at best and I’m sickened that the information contained within appears not to be accurate.

Please could you enlighten me on the methods used for buses/taxi-cabs and mini-cabs emission levels.

Yours faithfully,
