Hi everyone, While driving up Bayswater Road, I got flagged down by two ladies wearing pink wigs, they told me the first cab they tried to hail, took one look at them and drove straight past.

Come on guys, what’s wrong with these two lovely ladies.

I got chatting to them and they told me they were doing the shorter of the two walks, 16 mls I think they said, all the same it’s for a good course, breast cancer Moonwalk,Walk the Walk Well done ladies.

On my way to Hanover Square, I’m pob and sitting in traffic, in Shaftesbury Avenue, these two guys ask a minicab driver if he was free, the driver says yes, I told them if he takes you I’ll report him, they both smiled and walked off.

Driving down Shaftesbury and up Wardour Street is crazy, push bikes on the pavement, pedi cycles cycling down the wrong way of one way streets and parked on corners making it hard for people and vehicles to move round them also cars and minicabs making illegal turns, people walking aimlessly around, in their smashed/hammered state adding to the chaos.
I’ve got as far as Gt Marlborough Street waiting at a set of red lights, when this car comes up the other side of the street and turns right into Regent Street, everyone stops, no one attempts to stop him, I’ve seen police cars with their two’s and blues blaring away with less affect.

I just dropped off in Princes Street w1, when a double decker comes rolling down the road and comes to an abrupt halt at the edge of the pavement,a dead end road, “o dear” now you would have thought, he might try and back up and try a different way, no, not he, he decided to continue, over the pavement he goes, the crazy thing is, there was a Pedicycle behind him who decided to turn back, along with the rest of the vehicles.

while Tweeting about it this Chinese looking guy came up to me and threw open my back door,so fast, at first I thought he did some damage, when he sat down I said was there any need for that,he started getting a bit stroppy so I asked him to leave, he all of a sudden went into one, started effing and blinding and showing me a few hand gestures, I thought ,well I never, all I did was ask him to leave my cab, some people.

Going back a while I picked up Harry redknapp and took him home to Hornchurch on the way there we where having a chat and Derek calls me, what a coincident being he is a Big Hammers fan. I can’t remember why Derek called but I told him that Harry was in the back of my cab and do you want to have a chat, he said yes I wouldn’t mind having a few words. So I asked Harry if he wouldn’t mind having a quick chat on the phone, he said no problem. So I passed the phone over to him, I haven’t got a clue what was said but maybe Del boy can fill you in one day.

Sometimes you pick up a fare and you just know it’s going to go wrong.

I picked up this woman from Kings Cross station and she asked to go to Sussex Way. She even tells me it’s in N7. I didn’t know there was a Sussex Way in N7 so I did a check on the computers A to Z to be sure and it came up with N19 instead not N7. She told me it was of off the Holloway Rd so I said well it has to be the one in N19 and she said if you think it is right then lets go. – fair enough.

In the meantime she made a phone call, I can only guess to the person that we were going to, because while on the phone her friend confirmed it was the right address so we carried on.

I though it was a bit of hassle but she’s paying so no problems. By this time I was already on Seven Sisters Rd, then I turned into Stroud Green Rd after about three hundred meters she decides that she needs a cash machine. I said you’ve left it a bit late to tell me that so I did a u turn and back to the junction of Seven Sisters Rd and found her a machine. She asked me how much the fare would be so I said around 20 pounds.

When back in the cab I did another u turn back up Stroud Green Rd, then turned into Fairbridge Rd. when she said I’m not sure you’re going the right way. I’m a bit confused a this point because earlier she had no idea where she was going, so I said do you know where you are she said no. I said how then can you say that I’m not going the right way. In the nicest possible way I said look lady it took me two and a half years to learn the streets of London, I am not out here playing games with you when you ask me to take you somewhere I’ll take you there.

A couple more yards along the road and I was at the junction of Sussex way, so I pulled over and said now do you know where you are she said no. I said this is where you asked me to take you. She said I’m from the north I don’t know where we are. So I said well you better get out and look. She asked how much was the fare I said £ 21.80 which was on the meter, so she gave me two scruffy ten pound notes and said that’s all I’ve got.

Nice, she’d just taken money out of the ATM, gave me the runaround, and she’s still managed to short change me.

Punters eh, who is your worse pick up?

Be lucky.

I picked up a young Lady in the city going to city airport on a pre-booked job. she said she wanted to go to Kensington not the airport as she had forgotten her passport. As you can imagine she was getting worked up about missing her flight. When I pulled away I asked her what time her flight was she said she had to be there by 18.50. It’s now 17.20 so you can imagine what the traffic is like in the city at that time.

Rather than drive to Kensington we decided to see if there was anyone at the flat that could courier the passport to us at the airport, we had a stoke of luck with that as the porter had a flat key. Good news was the porter was able to get the passport, so we circled Aldgate and called 118 118 for a courier. Can you imagine not one courier wanted the job claiming they were to busy.( Those 118 guys are always running around the place, would have been handy if one of them had got of their fat arse and ran down and colleted it), but I digress.

Realising that she wasn’t going to make the flight the water works started up.

After 4 laps of Aldgate she wanted to go home and gave the boyfriend a call. Apparently she was going to

Europe somewhere to meet the inlaws for the first time and they had laid on a big party for her and she had brought them all presents.

Anyway by the time I got her home she was a bit calmer and gave me a nice tip for all the help.

Whenever I watch those airline programs on the TV I always feel sorry for the guys that arrive at the airport and realise they forgot their passports. Its even worse when you have one in the back of the cab. I don’t however feel sorry for the muppets that arrive at the airport late and scream at the checkin staff because they missed their flight.
