Enhancements of Chancery Lane WC2 (Complain)

Dear Sir/Madam,

I wish to object to your proposals for the enhancement of Chancery Lane WC2. I am a driver of a London taxi-cab and certainly need 24 hour access to this most important road which allows me to travel from Fleet Street to High Holborn in a reasonable time.

If this road is closed to taxi-cab traffic I will be forced to divert via Fetter lane/New Fetter Lane or via Lincoln’s Inn Field, this will increase taxi-cab fares, increase the journey times for passengers and certainly increase traffic in the surrounding streets and roads. This scheme in my opinion creates more problems than it actually solves for the drivers and users of London’s taxi-cabs.

You should also note Chancery Lane is a area where I do from time to time get hailed and therefore there is a need for taxi access on a 24 hour basis, due to the importance of this road I would kindly ask that you “the Corporation of London” consider amending this scheme and allow taxi access along the whole length of Chancery Lane if this enhancement to the area is to go ahead.

May I thank you for taking the time to read my email and hopefully give due weight to the opinions expressed within.

Yours faithfully,
