It always comes in threes!
Hi there everybody hope you are well and earning enough to keep the wheels turning.
I have got my cab back today and it drives great,I have had a TX2 for the last few days, thanks Jason, and although it was a cab and earn’t me some money its not the same as having your own motor.
It,s the first time I have had a TX2 for any lengh of time and I didn’t find it as bad as they have been portrayed. There were a few things that niggled like the fact that there seems to be less room in the drivers compartment,so my left knee was always banging against the centre console. the seat wasn’t as comfortable as the one in my cab but that may have been adjustment (or the fact that my seat has taken the shape of my fat arse over the last 6 years)!
But the most annoying thing was the buzzer that went off every time I used the indicators, every time I went to turn a corner there it was,BEEP,BEEP,BEEP!!!!!
It got so bad that I stopped indicating until the last moment. If I was sitting at the traffic lights I would only use the bloody things if there was a car behind me or somebody crossing the road.
Who in their right mind thought that having something that drives you mad going off all day was a good idea?
You can just see the design meeting at LTI when that idea was passed” Well Cecil we have designed a cab that is noisier than the TX1,it is also less reliable and will cause the trade to scratch their heads and wonder why we chose that engine, but how can we piss the driver off even more?!
“Well Tristran, how about we give them an annoying noise that will drive them to drink, after all we all know that cabbies drive their punters mad with their inane drivel, It would be devine retribution wouldn’t it”.
If I ever met the fella that had that great idea I would put the buzzer right up his BEEPING BEEP BEEP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As it says in the title of this piece trouble always comes in threes,so far this month I have had a puncture,a new fuel tank and now a new injector pump so hopefully thats my 3 for now.
Thats me done for today I shall be back with you with more of my ramblings in the next few days.
Cheers, Del Boy
